Off The Calorie Scale The World Cancer Research Fund has identified that some iced coffees being sold on the High Street contain as many calories as a hot dinner. The chief offender had 561 calories, others contained more than 450, and the majority had in excess of 200. Starbucks’ Dark Berry Mocha Frappuccino, [Venti] contains 561 calories according to the WCRF. It is the combination of sugar, full-fat milk and cream which appears to push some of the “cool coffees” into the upper echelons of the calorie scale. Protection against sun burn – not chip fat! “Scots have an unhealthy approach to sunbathing and the highest risk of contracting skin cancer in the UK”. A study by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society found some Scots had even used chip fat to get a tan.
